Did anyone else notice that the same player who took the free kick that Antonio headed in for the second goal, also played the through ball for Antonio's third goal, and released Fredericks who crossed for Antonio's fourth?

Moyes hasn’t done much better than Pel, but one thing he has ended is the collapse towards the relegation zone that we had at the end of Manuel’s reign. It’s not much, but at least it’ll allow us to live to fight another day.

Soucek and Bowen seem to be good buys. The last thing I expected was for Soucek to be a goal threat. With Grady coming back next season, we’ll have an extremely solid, goal-scoring midfield, even forgetting Antonio.

Pel’s purchases were talented but don’t seem to have much heart, Fornals aside. That said, those players have the potential to be very good if they’re knocked back into shape.

Not often that I agree with Nutsin, but fullbacks seem to be our weak point. The ones we have are OK backup players but nothing more than that.

Norwich were poor, but time to give all at the club some credit, we showed up today and won convincingly.

I heard the commentator say Bowens stronger foot is his left, perhaps we should give him a run out down the left and bring in Diangana (spelling) down the right next season.

Got to get some pace in the middle and a couple of full backs.
With more games under his belt Antonio could turn Into a decent striker, or a nos 10 alongside Haller if we play 2 up front.

When David Cross scored four against Spurs in 1981, the last West Ham player to do so, Mikhail Antonio had not been born yet. I wonder if the next West Ham player to score four has been born yet?

Have you ever played any competitive sport where you weren't bothered about winning or not? I certainly haven't.

We robbed Man U of the title when we were already relegated. Pro footballers hate losing (except perhaps Anderson and Lanzini based on recent performances.

Well done West Ham today (players that is) and especially Antonio, let us not forget how shit this season has been before celebrating our imminent survival in the next few game, shameful season from the club....

Can see Villa getting something today but not Bournemouth, they have Leicester who have there CL place to hang onto after Chelsea lost.

TBH can’t see Villa winning 3 of there last 4 games which is what they need, assuming we don’t get another point! Bournemouth will need 7 points from there 4 games, again assuming we get nothing.

34 points is enough IMO, no matter what could happen mathematically....

I can't see Bournemouth beating Leicester but certainly could see Villa winning against a Palace side with little to play for

Brighton two down already against City. I think we'll end above them.

Villa need 5 from their next 3 and then to beat us. Our GD is worth another point over them
They need the 5pts from
Palace h
Everton a
Arsenal h

And that’s assuming we lose to Watford & Man U

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
They both need at least 7 points from their last 4 fixtures assuming we don’t score another point. It seems very unlikely either will go above us but you never know.

We don’t want to be in a position where it’s us or Villa on the final day.

Yes, definitely not safe.
If Villa and Bournemouth lose tomorrow will will be looking very good, but still not safe.

We're not safe yet...only Brighton of those near us are safe...

Some visionary will see him as the player they thought John Stones will be or try to make him into that.

Even though he would excel, I think he’d be wasted as a centre back.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Talking of BT Sport, they had Rio Ferdinand in the studio and were talking about how he got moved into defence from midfield when he was 15 and talking about the same thing happening with Rice.

The way they were talking was as though it was a formality that it’d happen. Surely that ship has sailed? He has established himself as a midfielder and been capped by England as a midfielder.

El Scorchio 9:55 Sat Jul 11
Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Agree. A tough and experienced centre back or midfielder Would probably have helped a lot.

Mostly drivel in the BT studio today and Jake Humphries gushing and mourning Norwich in a very self indulgent way but the point was made That every single player that started for them today was playing for them in the championship last season. I’m sure some was due to injury but that’s pretty telling.

Sven Roeder 9:49 Sat Jul 11
Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Norwich needed to invest at least a bit more to add some Premier league experience
Byram at £750k was their biggest buy I think
Some promising young players but too naive and too soft.
Will go down with money in the bank and sell a couple of players for decent money.
As seen with the shit in the bottom 6 it wouldn’t have taken too much to stay up.
